Hi! I’m Alex, and I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re new to therapy or continuing on your journey, I know that it takes courage to reach out. Engaging in therapy is an act of hope, and I am honored to provide a warm, steady, and accepting presence as you heal and grow.
Approach
I believe that we are all capable of finding our own way forward, but we don’t have to do it alone. My approach to therapy is relational and person-centered. I trust your ability to determine what’s best for you; my role is to help you access the inner wisdom and self-knowledge that you already possess. Together we will explore who you are and what you’re experiencing from a place of curiosity, compassion, and connection. When you feel stuck or uncertain, I can offer gentle guidance and direct, honest feedback to help you understand yourself better.
“Kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle.”
-Charles Glassman
Clients
I work with adults (18 and up) from a variety of backgrounds. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodiversity affirming, and practice from Health at Every Size® and anti-oppressive frameworks. My clients come to therapy for a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, low self-worth, feeling stuck in destructive patterns, relationship challenges, painful life experiences and trauma.
Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas. My background includes work in inpatient mental health and school settings. In addition to working with clients, I also have experience as a Clinical Manager at a local therapy practice, where I provided consultation and support to staff counselors. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a type of therapy designed to help people resolve symptoms related to distressing experiences. I often incorporate principles from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my work.
My self-care involves striking a balance between spending time with my favorite people and taking time by myself to recharge. Some of my hobbies include practicing tai chi and yoga, competing with my trivia team, playing video games, and reading.
Scheduling
I’m able to meet with clients in person in Austin or online throughout the state of Texas
